The most effective treatment for sleep apnea depends on the degree of sleep apnea.
If you have slight or moderate sleep apnea, a device that you place in your mouth, manufactured by a dentist after you’ve visited the dentist or after you visited a sleep apnea specialist, would be very effective.
In cases of upper end of moderate to severe sleep apnea, then the only type of treatment would be the CPAP, which is forced oxygen into your system. It provides a constant stream of oxygen, allowing you to breathe during the night while you’re sleeping.
For those that have up to a moderate type of sleep apnea, an appliance could do really well. We have had a number of patients in our practice here that after visiting the sleep apnea specialist, and in conjunction with that specialist we have developed these appliances that have worked very favorably for people.
